Well this perplexing question has been rankling me for some time now. I read somewhere (can't comment on the authenticity) that even Mister Sigmund Freud after twenty years of doing his psycho analysis babble(Yes throw in the brick bats) said that the only question he couldn't find an answer for was ... yes you guessed it right "What do women want?".
The chick flick "What women want" starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, had this guy Nick played by Gibson who can hear voices playing inside female heads, including a female poodle (but why does it talk in English, well I don't know). And his shrink remarks; quote "If Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, and you can speak Venusian, the world can be yours."unquote. Hmmmm interesting philosophy. Well I for one certainly believe that females are the more dominant species. They can stand up to a lot, juggle multiple roles of a mother, friend, sister, boss, entrepreneur etc etc do excellent in each one of them and still be amazed and delighted when they get that Huge teddy or the box of chocolates.
Well to tell you a little about myself, I have never had much luck with women. I have dated a lot but never had a long term relationship. After a couple of months/dates it kinds of peters out and ends whether the lady loses interest or me (I would like to believe the latter, but the verdict is still open on that one). Though I have always been known as a gentleman by every female who knows me (Yes, everyone believes it about himself). So the problem must be I really don't know what they want ?
I had an interesting tiff with a lady friend of mine whom I know for quite a few years now. She said that I have said her obnoxious things and hurt her a lot of times but she never said a word until then. Which made me wonder when I did that ? Cos I don't remember doing any of it, but if she says then it must be true as well. I had always been supportive of whatever she did.. Yes I also have to include that I never remembered her birthday ever. Whereas she definitely did mine and gave me nice presents every time. But I always dismissed it as something of a guy thing, cos I don't remember any dates which include birthdays, anniversaries and all the myriad other dates one is supposed to remember. Which brought me to my question "What do women want?". Is it shiny baubles as proclaimed famously by Marlyn Monroe as "Diamonds are a girls best friend" to an advert of wonder bra that says "wonder bra is a girls best friend". Or is it love, or fame or money. Well I believe its all of them plus something else.
How else can you explain good girls falling for jerks(though i think it will be vehemently denied by females, but come on you know its true), well if you don't believe me search on the internet, there are even books that are called "How not be a nice guy and get the girls". So it must be something deeper. One thing for sure is that females are more emotional than men. So a lot of their choices are made on emotions. They are more expressive of their feelings and also look for solace to them in a lot of places. Well I am trying to figure out what is it that they want .. and no I will not be reading "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus" books, at least not yet.. So any female netizen if you stumble across this piece, do let me know what you really want ? and to any and all males of the net kingdom, I am on a quest, to find an answer to this elusive question.

no, if she really means a lot to you, at the sub-conscious level, you will not need to remember those dates. they will be stored in your subconscious automatically.

Ok you tell me what do you want ?? what are the things that will bring you eternal bliss. And yes the Wonder bra was only a point which exemplifies the rabid commercialization of our world.

well 1st thing evryone's different.. as individuals .. ur sensible enuf to get that rite?be it ur mum, sis, frnd, wife, grlfrnd.. just let them kno that u care for them n love them .. no matter wat..n plss..u dont need huge expressions for that .. just simple words do it.. nobody demands for roses .. n b'day dates.. n stuff(those r just archie comic stuff) just be there for them wen they need u ... coz they always do 4 u.. n plss mean wat u say (NECESSARY)

Men want too much from women and so they think women want just too much for men so as to lead them to exasperated quest. Its not so. What you need is what you have written in your post. Read it. And you wouldnt need anybody else's comments !!
Hear ..Hear ..Thanks Amy..well now we know it from the horse's mouth (pardon my expression no reflection to you at all, but couldn't think of anything better). So Women actually value the feeling or the expression more than the material things !!! or is it just you and some others like you.. Cos what I see in the Western world and especially in India is you gotta prove your worth materialistically ... Well I think I am just blabbering ..most probably it isn't true.
And Anonymous.. well to tell you the truth I don't like anonymous comments, come out and let me know your name.. I sure don't bite !!! But anyways.. well I really have no idea whether she has fallen for me or not ?.. and how do you know that I am a jerk ?? maybe thats why she will not fall for me :p
And I still think I need comments because I feel it is important to know what Women want .cos as guys most of us take a lot from them for granted.. If you are a guy you will know..think of your poor mother (Well you might be an exception as well, but in general).

Ha.. thanks Amy.. I just remembered this Boer Joke.. One day the old lady at dinnertime comes out of the kitchen and puts bales of hay on the families plates. And the husband and the five sons start shouting about it.. And the lady says "for the last 25 years I have been serving food on this table and never have I heard a word about it, just like the horses in the stable. So I thought I might as well serve hay and not go to all that trouble." Which I believe still is, so true. Thats why I wrote this piece to try to know more about the perspective of the fairer sex(Oh I think I am being racist here).
